We’re looking for an operations supervisor (known with the university as Building Coordinator) for our accommodation cleaning teams. The Building Coordinator will join the Residence Life Operations team on a full time (36.5 hours) permanent basis. We require you to work 5 days out of 7 . Some weekend working is expected on a rota basis (but this is mainly during the summer months). Hours are 9am-5.20pm.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operational day to day running of a section of University accommodation
  • Management of an operational team to achieve an effective and efficient service for the customers
  • Conducting regular 1-1 and team meetings with domestic and porter staff
  • Completing frequent accommodation checks
  • Responding to customer feedback on TopDesk
  • Planning and achieving turnaround of accommodation after student departure, preparing rooms for student intake.

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Porter to support the day-to-day operations across university facilities. While portering duties may be required both on campus and in university-owned buildings throughout the city, this role is earmarked to be predominantly based in our city-centre locations, supporting high-traffic student accommodation and academic spaces. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the movement of furniture, equipment, and deliveries.
  • Support room setups for events, meetings, and teaching activities.
  • Removal of waste and recycling from accommodation kitchens
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in communal areas in coordination with cleaning teams.
  • Respond to reactive requests from building users and facilities teams.
  • Ensure safe handling and storage of materials and supplies.
  • Provide a visible and helpful presence to students, staff, and visitors.

About you

You are reliable, practical, and enjoy physical, hands-on work. You take pride in helping others and keeping spaces clean and organised.

You bring :

  • Good physical fitness and the ability to lift and move items safely

We are seeking a proactive, highly organised, and people-focused individual to join our ResLife team as Private Accommodation Support Advisor. This vital role supports students transitioning to, and living in, private sector accommodation while fostering positive relationships between the University, landlords, and the wider 51勛圖厙 community.

You’ll be at the forefront of our private housing support service, offering expert advice to resident students engaging with landlords, ensuring legal compliance, and enhancing student wellbeing through a range of community-based initiatives and events. If you have a passion for supporting students, housing policy, and engaging with collaborators, this is an excellent chance to create a significant influence.

As the Private Accommodation Support Advisor, you will manage and maintain the Private Housing database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of landlords and properties. You’ll provide tailored advice to our resident students seeking private accommodation , including those with complex needs, and serve as the primary point of contact for landlords, supporting them with reference requests.

Leading the development of our private support advice services, you will continuously improve the experience for both students and landlords. You’ll coordinate Housing Forums and House-Hunting events in collaboration with the Students’ Union, and stay informed of changes in housing legislation and policy to ensure our service remains compliant and effective.

The role also requires responding to enquiries via email, phone, and face-to-face, escalating issues when necessary. You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with key local stakeholders including BANES, PBSA providers, and the National Residential Landlords Association, and work closely with the Student Community Partnership to promote positive student-community relations across 51勛圖厙.

About you:

  • The post holder will have strong knowledge of housing issues and relevant legislation, particularly in the private rented sector.
  • Experience working with students or young people, ideally in a higher education or support setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with a range of stakeholders.
  • A high level of organisation and attention to detail, with experience managing databases and sensitive records in line with data protection regulations.
  • A flexible and collaborative approach, with a commitment to inclusivity, wellbeing, and service improvement.

We are seeking a proactive, organised, and service-focused Campus Experience and Switchboard Coordinator to lead and manage reception and switchboard operations across our student and commercial campus accommodation receptions.

This is a pivotal role within the Campus Services team, responsible for ensuring a welcoming and professional front-of-house experience for students, guests, and visitors throughout the year. You will oversee the recruitment, training, and performance of both permanent and casual reception staff, manage key service processes, and play an active role in enhancing the overall student and guest experience.

The role also includes responsibility for the University Switchboard, ensuring enquiries are handled promptly and professionally and internal systems are kept accurate and up to date.

About you:

  • Lead day-to-day operations of student and commercial reception services across both Campus Hubs.
  • Recruit, train, and manage Reception Assistants and Supervisors, maintaining rota coverage and service consistency.
  • Manage enquiry handling systems (including shared inboxes), ensuring timely, effective responses and issue resolution.
  • Oversee check-in/out processes for students and guests, maintain accurate records in bedstock systems (e.g., Kx or Opera).
  • Support group and guest bookings during the summer period, coordinating with the Campus Experience Team Leader.
  • Manage the University Switchboard service (Mon–Fri, 9am–5pm), ensuring accuracy of contact information and professional communication.
  • Collaborate with ResLife, Campus Infrastructure, and wider University teams to deliver a cohesive experience for all service users.
  • Maintain front-of-house procedures, digital content accuracy, and compliance with the UUK Code of Practice.
